Your pet has been surgically altered. An incision was made just in front of the scrotum, exposing the testicles and removing them. Absorbable sutures were used inside the skin and will not need to be removed.
His after care requires special precautions and care under your supervision. These are covered in the instructions below. A decreased appetite for one to two days may be normal. However, if any of the following symptoms occur, please contact our office at 903-657-9212.
1. Loss of appetite or refusal to drink water for 24 hours.
2. Depression or weakness.
3. Diarrhea or vomiting.
DIET: Please only feed 1/2 the normal amount of his food the first night after surgery.
ACTIVITY: Please restrict your pet to inside the house or a large outdoor kennel for 7 days after surgery. No running, jumping, or up and down stairs.
CARE OF INCISION: Please check the incision site at least twice a day for increased swelling, drainage, or opening of the incision site. If these are noted, please contact us at 903-657-9212. Discourage chewing or licking at the incision. If you note this behavior, please contact us immediately.
SUTURES - No sutures need to be removed.
